Let the Fair Begin!
Nuthin’ says “State Fair Opening Ceremony” quite like folk music and candy apples for breakfast. And that’s just what we got:
The Color Guard marched in and the Wells Family Band kicked things off with one of the more beautiful renditions of The National Anthem that I’ve ever heard. Truly. Commissioner Troxler highlighted all the new things at the Fair this year… and this time he didn’t even break Candice’s mic (just teasing Commish 
).
Miss North Carolina sang “God Bless America”, the ribbon was cut, and we were all encouraged to “take time for a great time”. I’m sure we all will!
