Lunch Time At The State Fair

My favorite time is lunch time—especially at the North Carolina State Fair.

Even though almost every food vendor boosts similar fares including Gyros,
turkey legs, pizza and funnel cakes, I still walk aimlessly searching for the perfect lunch spot.

Today, fellow beat reporter Kerry Hall and I decided to split foods, our reasoning being that we could sample more, of course. We started off at the Wisconsin Cheese Stand. It was awesome. They have a simple menu: Cheddar or Mozzarella Sticks. Ranch or Mustard Sauce.

We opted for cheddar and mustard and it rocked—minus the $7 price tag. But, you get what you pay for.

Now, at this point the two of us still think we can handle a gyro, a friend snickers and maybe one of those rockin’ pieces of corn smothered in butter and pepper. Yeah right.

We ventured over for a Gyro next, but only made it about halfway through. It was delicious, but very filling!

Looks like we’re heading to livestock showing next.  I dig that smell on a full stomach.
