Rain Puts A Damper On Fair Attendance
According to Brian Long with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Saturday’s Sate Fair attendance was 76,296, compared to last year’s single-day record of 145,955 on the same day last year.
Fair officials believe the low number of fairgoers was due to Saturday’s rain.

Fairgoers Get To Name Roller Coaster
RALEIGH, N.C.– People attending the N.C. State Fair this Thursday, Oct. 16, will be able to submit a name for the world’s largest portable roller coaster, according to Powers Great American Midways.

Free Shuttles Running Thursday To Fair, NCSU Football Game
RALEIGH – Fairgoers and Wolfpack fans can avoid traffic by taking a free park-and-ride shuttle Thursday.
McLaurin Parking Co. will operate shuttle buses at the southwest corner of Reedy Creek and Edwards Mill roads between 2 p.m. and midnight. There is no fee for the parking or the bus ride from this lot.
