According to Brian Long with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Saturday’s Sate Fair attendance was 76,296, compared to last year’s single-day record of 145,955 on the same day last year.   Fair officials believe the low number of fairgoers was due to Saturday’s rain.
